What's Up with the Feet?

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Cayman has very messy hair, dried Betadine, and a bandage all on her head . But she doesn't notice any of that......She just wants to know, What's up with my feet?

Cayman had a great night. She was up late {til 1 a.m.} but once she went to sleep she slept the whole night. What an encouragement that is. Hopefully that means her normal sleeping pattern will not get messed up from this hospital stay.

In rounds this morning, Dr. Maher said discharge would most likely occur today! :o) That calls for big smiles!

I am so glad to hear the sugery went well and I pray recovery goes well enough that you get to go home today. I can tell by Cayman's smile she wants to go home too. It is so good to see that Cayman is starting to get her spunk back. Even though we don't see it in person, you can tell through the pictures she is feeling better. The pictures that you posted when she went into the hospital were so hard to look at, her expression was awful. So I am happy to finally see a smile.

I love the doctors who invented shunts. So our precious babies can survive. I also love doctors who take the 12-16 years to become neurosurgeons. Bless all their hearts. Caymany you are precious. So glad you are feeling better.

Thanks for the pictures - you can see the typical happy playful Cayman in them. What a blessing to see that! Miss you ones! Give kisses and hugs to Cayman for me and tell her Grandma Cindy is soooooooooo very proud of her and loves her dearly! I hesitate to ask but how much of her beautiful hair did they have to cut? It will grow :o). XOXOXOXO

I love the first comment! :)

She is such a tropper. Kids are so resilant...surgery, hospital beds, pokes, and smiles! :)

Enjoy going home!

Oh my goodness Cayman. What is on your foot? You are so sweet. I am glad you are doing so much better.

There's that toothy smile we love so much.

I think she was checking to see if her feet were still stinky. Maybe she thought that contraption was to make them smell better. The caption for the last picture of her feet could be saying, "Oh no, it didn't work!"

Jennifer,

At Cayman's one year check up {which was 1 1/2 months ago} she measured 28 inches long. I'm not sure what she is now. I'll find out next week, at her Pediatrician appointment.
