Cayman's Discoveries & Development at 6 months
- You are obsessed with your hands and fingers. You constantly have them in your mouth. When I take your picture lately that seems to be the only pose I can get.
- You love to watch football with Daddy. The Buckeye's first game you must have watched for nearly and hour. We were so surprised it held your attention for so long.
- You have completely fallen in love with Uncle Mark and Aunt Cara's ceiling fan. You can't take your eyes off of it. Once Daddy saw how much you loved it I think he wanted to run home and put one in just for you.
- A couple times you have eaten rice cereal from a spoon. You're still unsure about it. At first you clamp those little gums shut tightly, but once we get going with it you open your mouth for each bite. However, as real serious hunger sets in you demand for your bottle only.
- You are sleeping 6-9 hours at night.
- You reach and grab for things and try to stick them in your mouth.
- You have discovered hair and that includes Daddy's goatee.
- You roll from your back to your sides. You have a favorite side though. You mostly roll to the right.
- You just started wearing size 2 diapers. Size 1 could still fit but we had to up the size for those explosive moments when you fill your pants. We've had a lot less "oosing from the sides" moments with the bigger size diapers.
- You smile...a lot. You just started to giggle more too. In fact you seemed to think the football game Daddy had on yesterday was pretty funny. We have to work harder to get you to giggle though. You will smile at almost anything, but you're much more picky at what you find funny.
- Your hair in front has grown in nicely since your last shunt revision when they had to shave it. Your hair in back that you've had since birth continues to keep growing. So right now your hairstyle is a mullet.
- You love to touch faces and grab noses
- You recognize your bottle and sometimes help direct it into your mouth with your hands.
- You have discovered your feet. Sometimes you will grab them but most of the time you just lift them up to stare at them.
- When you are tired you prefer to be cuddled and rocked to sleep.
- You outgrew the bassinet and are enjoying your roomy crib.
- Most outfits that fit you perfectly are "3 month" clothes. Mommy can't figure out how her little girl that seems so big is yet so little.
- You are now 26 inches and 12 pounds 14 ounces

Happy 1/2 birthday, Cayman!
Love and hugs, Emily and Katy
Happy 1/2 birthday big girl!
I love that moment when they realize that Dad's goatee can be pulled. My husband stopped laughing when Jason got my hair after Jason got his goatee. Now he helps me pry little fingers off!
6 months old, WOW!! Cayman is such a tiny peanut : ) but doing a lot of big girl things!! Keep up the good work!
I love reading about all of the things Cayman's doing. I volunteer to be the rocker and cuddler when she's sleepy. Those are two of my favorite things.
Looking back of the pictures you recently posted, I noticed how much older Cayman looks. She is absolutely beautiful! I especially love the picture of my three girls together.
