Good news!! Cayman's shunt is working!!
"Thank You God!!"
5 Shunt surgeries within 3 1/2 months. That's a lot!! Too much! Cayman says "Enough is enough!"
The Neurosurgeon dialed her shunt down one point (1.0). He would like to see more fluid drain. He removed all her bandages too. I did not expect her incision on her head to be so large!! Poor thing really looks butchered. She's doing very well though. She was smiling and "talking" while we were at the doctor's office.

Praises go up!
I'm so glad and relieved to hear she's doing great!!! Miles has some little "caterpillars" on his head, too! Don't worry- they heal sooo fast and you'll barely notice it after the hair grows in!
I love hearing about her sweet little personality. Cayman is just a doll. You are so blessed!
Im so glad to read that she is doing so good! Ive been keeping up with her and you and your hubby hoping and praying that something will go great! The scars are scary to see. I remember my daughters and they scared me more than anything else! Again im so glad to see that she is doing better!
God is good! What an answer to prayer. Continued prayers for ya'll will continue to be lifted up. Even on the nights that Kaiden doesn't want to say prayers (because that means he has to go to bed) he will always pray for "Baby Cayman" as he calls her! We love ya. Tia
I've been reading your blog for a little while now. I found it when I was reading my new frind Kacey's story of Ella Grace. My son Riley has Down Syndrome and he and Ella both go to the Guild School. Anyway I sit here tonight reading about Cayman and bawling because it breaks my heart that she has to fight so hard. Your belief in God is amazing to me. I so admire those that have such a strong faith. Riley has not had such severe health problems but we do have our strugges with the simple things related to his DS. Reading your blog is such a good reminder that we have to put our trust in God and he really does have a plan for us even if we don't understand it. Your beautiful little girl has brought joy and the light of Christ to all that ready your blog. Thank you for sharing her with the world. I will contintue to keep you all in my prayers.
I'm so happy to hear that Cayman's shunt is finally behaving itself. Owen has 8 incisions healing from his recent surgeries (4 in one month, with three being in the last two weeks of that month). But at least these little guys heal really fast. It took me months to heal over my c-section and Owen's are all healed over in just two weeks! Cayman is such a sweetheart, I just love to see the expressions that she gets on her beautiful face!
Yeah for a great check up.
Praying her shunt works for many years without a malfunction.
Have a wonderful day!
WOW to the incision but YAY for the doing so well!!!
