Cayman has two (first) cousins.
Sidney (on the right) will soon turn 5 years old and CeCe (on the left) is 3 years old.
The girls are so much fun! Sidney is more quiet and easy going while CeCe is full of fire and spunk. They laugh and giggle a lot. After spending an evening with them their laughter will still ring in my ears (in a good way) and keeps me smiling for the next several days.Sidney (on the right) will soon turn 5 years old and CeCe (on the left) is 3 years old.
I will never forget the day they all came to the hospital to visit us.
When Mark entered the NICU I am certain the sun shined brighter that day. He had a big smile on his face as he approached Cayman's bedside so happy and proud to meet her. It made Mike and I forget all about the tubes, wires, and monitors that our sweet baby was hooked up to. It restored the joy of having a new baby join our family. And when Cara came in, she talked to me like I was a regular mom that just had a baby. It was not at all that they did not respectively acknowledge the seriousness of Cayman's condition. They were quite aware of it and understood it was a very scary time for all of us, but their joy of having a new baby niece did not get lost in all that worry.
Mike and I now live a short 10 minute drive from them! It's so great!! We have loved spending more time with all of them.

I know what you are saying about how Cara treated you at the hospital. I can not tell you how much I appreciated those who just treated us like any other family who just had a new baby! She must be a very special, loving lady. What a blessing to have those sweet little girls around your daughter as she grows up. My children are the only grandchildren so far in my family :( And I have 2 MUCH older brothers, a younger brother AND a younger sister!
I still don't think you posted enough Cayman pictures ;)
How cute! IS Cayman sticking her tongue out in that one picture? Talk about spunk!!!
Haha! Look at Cayman making silly faces (secretly) at her cousin already! :) So precious! What a neat blessing to be so close to family and that they are such awesome friends on top of the relation. Very cool...I can't help but smile! :)
I love the picture of Cayman sticking her tongue out when Sidney is not looking. That is sooo cute. I can't wait to see Cayman just a few more days!!! Love ya so much!!!
What a blessing for Cayman to have cousins nearby! I am sure that they will be like big sisters to her. Your brother and sister in law seem like amazing people. I love how they treated you and Cayman 'normal'. Isn't it a relief to just find joy in the miracle of a new baby rather than constantly focusing on the problems? I remember my surprise baby shower a few weeks before Elisabeth was born. I was overcome with happiness. For one night it was cute new baby dresses, pink blankets, new bottles, etc. All the fun things that come with having a new baby. There was no talk of problems, or surgeries, or hospitals. One of the greatest nights of my life.
Look at her stick her tounge out! How sweet is that! Having an awesome family is what makes it that much easier. I have a nephew who lived on the base we delivered Michelle at... He came to my hospital room while I was laboring and just helped Shawn and I laugh. WE really needed that. When he saw Michelle he just brought that hope and spirit he had just a few days before with him there. I love that spirit of him. He is stationed in IRAQ right now and cant wait to come home and see his cousins!
I think all three of my nieces are adorable!! I think I have some pretty cool brothers and sis in laws too! hehe :):)
